FMR study of reduced Ba-ferrite

FMR spectra and saturation magnetization versus temperature curves have been measured in Co-Ti-Sn substituted Ba-ferrite samples which have been reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere at temperatures up to 380/spl deg/C. In general, except for the starting material and the samples which have been reduced at 380/spl deg/C, the FMR spectra and the M/sub s/ versus temperature curves can be represented as a sum of non-interacting Ba-ferrite and /spl alpha/-Fe components. A model has been developed to explain the tilted easy axis which has been previously observed from torque curves which assumes a non-interacting mixture of Ba-ferrite with first-order uniaxial anisotropy and /spl alpha/-Fe with both crystalline and negative shape anisotropies.
