Toroidal stator winding through computer controlled equipment

Stators have traditionally been wound using equipment which winds coils in small loops and then, either manually or mechanically, the loops are "pushed" into the stator slots. However a new design of stator has emerged which allows the stator to be wound like a regular toroidal core. Unfortunately regular toroidal coil winding machines are not capable of winding stators. Therefore it was necessary to develop equipment to wind these stators cost-effectively, with precision and consistent quality. The author describes this new equipment.
