H∞ Control of Adjustable-Pitch Wind Turbine Adjustable-Pitch System

Active control of a horizontal axis wind turbine via pitching of the rotor blades is considered in this paper. It presents a robust control design for a variable-speed adjustable-pitch wind energy conversion system with an uncertain model. A H_infin controller is designed to drive the turbine speed to extract invariable power from the wind and to allow pitch adjustment to power regulation.
