A Novel Design of a Hard-bearing Dynamic Balancing Machine

Unbalancing in rotating machinery e.g. electric fans causes vibration which normally appears as noise. It reduces the life of shaft bearings. A dynamic balancing machine is used to reduce such a vibration to an acceptable level. Traditional dynamic balancing machine is very often in bad results as its low measure accuracy, long measurement time, and short range of measurement and low possibility of portable. To remove above disadvantages, this paper is to present a novel design of dynamic balancing machine using hardware band-pass filter to smoothen the sampled signal. This new design is applying software FFT and error compensation to improve measure accuracy, using auto-range adjustment to enlarge range of measurement, employing industrial PC and real-time data acquisition devices to shorten the measurement time. As the design based on C++ Builder in Microsoft Windows, this system is low cost and more possibility in functionality. In experiments, under on site test this design showed that it has most advantages in comparison of traditional dynamic balancing machines.
