A new CT scanner for emerging markets

The Analogic engineering team has taken a fresh look at CT scanning, designing a scanner specifically for the developing world. The instrument should also have application in neurosurgery, trauma centers, and intensive care units in the industrialized world. This instrument is the product of a tightly coupled team of engineers and scientists representing a wide spectrum of disciplines, including electronics, signal processing, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, mathematics, and computer science. Patent applications have already been submitted for the many unique and innovative ideas and functions contained within the machine. The resulting machine is a "work in progress", with performance equal to the mid-range machines in the market, many of the features of the highest performing machines in the market, and some unique features that should make it far more successful than systems presently available for its intended markets. It is likely that this new scanner will be made available worldwide through strategic OEM partners.<>
