Optimizing the FMM-BEM for 3-D Elastic Problem

This paper presents an optimization to improve the fast multipole boundary element method (FMM-BEM). By the Taylor series expansion, boundary integral equation (BIE) is divided into two parts. Every part takes different resolve method between boundary elements, the influence coefficients have been improved on the efficiency of calculation. Compare with the conventional FMM-BEM, this new method is more appropriate for using in large scale engineering calculation.
