Application of Mobile 2D Barcode in China

Mobile 2D barcode combining the advantages of 2D barcode and mobile phones facilitates easy access to any information at any time in any place through any media. It has become a proactive engine to promote the rapid development of Mobile-Internet and industry innovation. This paper first introduces the basic concepts of 2D barcode and mobile 2D barcode and analyzes the business modes and merits of mobile 2D barcode. Then, the current status of the application of mobile 2D barcode in China is elaborated with respect to its industry chain, business models and implementation. Finally, the issues in need of resolution by the industry are addressed.
