Multi-band antenna using dual composite right/left handed transmission line

A triple-band antenna using multi-band characteristic of the planar D-CRLH metamaterials which consists of DGS and SRP has been presented. The resonant characteristics of D-CRLH metamaterials are analyzed by theoretical and simulated dispersion relation. The theoretical resonance modes frequencies show good agreement with those of the simulation. The maximum gains of proposed antenna at each mode are 0.59dBi, 2.14dBi, and 4.31dBi, respectively. At the first, second, and third band, the size of antenna is reduced by 92.6%, 84.7%, and 74.2%, respectively, compared with that of conventional patch antenna.
