Real-time measurement of particulate matter in bars, karaoke and night club in urban area of Ulsan, Korea

Air quality monitoring was conducted to evaluate data on the levels of indoor and ambient particulate matter in public places such as bars, night clubs and karaoke in Ulsan, Korea. Sampling was carried out simultaneously indoors and outdoors during winter 2007-2008. Measured pollutants were inhalable (PM₁₀) and fine (PM_2.5) particulate matter. Several air quality parameters were also measured simultaneously in order to assess the relationship between both indoor and ambient air. Median PM_2.5 concentrations were 13.4 mug/m³ in bars, 40.8 mug/m³ in a night club, and 41 mug/m³ in a karaoke.
