Non-Volatile Memory & Digital Clocking

The first three papers of this Session are a continuation of the morning session on non-volatile memory, with discussions on recent flash memory advancements in array structure multi-bit storage and expanded endurance capability. These advancements expand the capability of existing flash applications such as mp3 players, digital video solid-state disks, automotive-engine control as well as new applications that are in development. The next four papers deal with clocking, which is a critical component of high-performance microprocessors due to the difficulty of generating and distributing a clock with low skew and jitter. A series of clock generation and distribution techniques address issues such as process portability, power dissipation, low jitter, and skew.
