Fighter Aircraft Guidance and Control Based on Combat Power Potential

The concept of combat power field is presented. Objects can affect each other through some fields, and the fighter aircrafts from two hostile sides threaten each other. We induce this kind of menace which shows combat capability to combat power field. The theory frame and model of combat power field is established. The combat power field is described quantitatively with combat power potential, and the single fighter's combat power potential function is composed of velocity direction, distance, target detection, assault, arrival, electronic countermeasure, and so on. Some models whose argument is combat power potential are presented to evaluate air combat situation and estimate the performance of guidance and control. A fighter guidance law based on the combat power field is studied. Derive the grads vectors of combat power potential on the positions of guided fighter and target fighter, get the weighed sum of vector, and design the guidance law with the angular velocity of the argument of the resultant vector. At last, the simulation result indicates: on the different tactics intents, by using this guidance law, fighter can be guided to arrival target point successfully, and keep tactical dominance.
