H∞ control theory apply to new type arc-suppression coil system

In the paper, the advanced H∞ optimization control theory is applied to a new type Principal-auxiliary arc-suppression coil (ASC) based on active filter technology. The H∞ standard control block diagram and the state space expression of model matching system are given. The auxiliary ASC composes of a single-phase shunt voltage source inverter (VSI), which produces little harmonics and automatically compensates the grounding capacity current with rapid response in a wide range. A continuous time H∞ controller is designed which achieves all performances and robustness properties required. Then an effective 7^th order discrete regulator is derived from the continuous one, and being used for DSP main controller. The results of the 10kV physical simulation experiments prove the validity of our approach.
