Injection-Tuned Coupled-Oscillators

This paper describes ITCO (Injection-Tuned Coupled-Oscillators) that offers cost-effective, powerefficient, integrable, compact, and low cost spectral pure signal source for wireless communication systems. The measured phase noise for 9.2 GHz ITCO is typically −132 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset from the carrier with 18 % DC-to-RF conversion efficiency respectively. To our knowledge, this is the best phase noise performance for a given class and DC-to-RF conversion efficiency so far reported.
