A SPICE Electrothermal Model of the Selected Class of Monolithic Switching Regulators

The problem of modeling the influence of self heating on the characteristics of monolithic switch-mode voltage regulators is considered in this letter. A new electrothermal model is proposed for a selected class of these regulators. The correctness of the new model and its usefulness in the SPICE analysis have been proved by comparing measurement results with simulation results for the boost converter including an LT1073 device, belonging to the considered class of regulators.
