Minimum copper loss position control of linear synchronous motors with current limits

An optimal control problem arising in manufacturing applications, namely the minimization of copper losses produced by point-to-point positioning, is formulated and solved numerically. Three types of synchronous motors and four types of current constraint sets are considered.
