Estimation of radiated emission from the power/ ground planes and its reduction using an improved calculation method

The power/ground planes’ resonance will cause radiated emission(RE) in the PCBs. So it is worth estimating the PCB’s RE level. This paper works on the RE characteristics on the structure with its resonance modes. An improved method with a single sum is derived to evaluate the RE of the unloaded structure and resonance-dampened structure with optimal DeCaps, and is compared by the conventional method and reference data.
