Properties of evanescent surface waves in plasma slab with application for miniaturized waveguides

In this study, we investigate the behaviour of such a metamaterial slab as a surface wave supporting structure. Especially we show that in certain cases it is possible to realize miniaturized planar waveguiding structures supporting forward and backward waves when only one material parameter is negative.
