QR-AMCBFM for Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis

An adaptively modified characteristic basis function method (AMCBFM) with QR factorization based on a dual modified Gram-Schmidt (Dual-MGS) algorithm called QR-AMCBFM is presented. Primary basis functions was derived by AMCBPM. When higher level basis functions are calculated, the QR factorization algorithm with Dual-MGS is used to decompose mutual coupling matrixes. The factorization scheme will stop by employing different threshold values set in near and far field domains. And the rest interaction between farther blocks will be ignored. Once the' adjacent currents precision arrives at a certain criterion, the higher-level basis functions would not be necessary, in which entire process the algorithm estimates adaptively. The numerical results show that the QR-AMCBFM can solve real problems accurately and can save more RAM storage and CPU time than conventional methods.
