Singlemode, Polarisation Independent Submicron Silicon Waveguides

Submicron optical waveguides exhibit strong dependency on its polarisation states, making polarisation insensitive design a challenge. We study both photonic wires and rib waveguides that are possible to satisfy both singlemode and zero birefringence simultaneously.
