Enhanced Optical Manipulation through Plasmonics

The radiation field from the resonant oscillating dipoles constituting the localized surface plasmon in an Au nanoparticle array is utilized for optical manipulation. Such field has large gradient and results in large dielectrophoretic force especially for small particles close to the array surface.
