Optimization of Vessel Degaussing System Based on Poly-population Particle Swarm Algorithm

In order to disguise and hide themselves better, vessels and submarines are equipped with degaussing windings. But, with the development of warship degaussing technology, more and more degaussing coils are being adopted. Thus, conventional methods to calibrate the degaussing system are increasingly difficult to implement. In order to solve this problem, the improved poly-population particle swarm algorithm is applied to compress the search space, which can improve the probability of searching global optimization solution. This method is applied to adjust some vessel degaussing system. Simulation results show that this algorithm has more advantages than others, in terms of minimizing the degaussing magnetic field characteristic RMS value (min-RM) and peak value (min-PM), and that this method can be used to optimize one or more parameters relating to the vessel or submarine's magnetic field characteristics, so the vessel or submarine degaussing system is calibrated to an optimal state, and the vessel or submarine's magnetic safety is ensured. Furthermore, this optimization has many advantages, such as intuitional algorithm, simple programming, high calculating speed, etc., which makes easy collaborating multi-computer and applying it to real project.
