Fast Calculation of Probabilistic TTC with Static Voltage Stability Constraint

This paper develops a fast probabilistic method to evaluate total transfer capability (TTC) considering static voltage stability constraints. A layered probabilistic TTC calculation model, in which load, generator output and contingencies uncertainties are considered, is proposed based on static voltage stability region (SVSR) method. A hyper-plane equation is derived to estimate part of the SVSR boundary in power injection space. Vector quantification clustering method and damped Newton method are also used to obtain the number and location of tangent points. The advantages of this proposed method are illustrated by an application to an IEEE RTS-118 system.
