The study of the forces present in a planar actuator

This paper describes an analytical method to compute the planar and normal forces of an electromagnetic planar actuator, in order to preview its performance in terms of planar force and to define the proper design of the mechanical parts that will be affected by the normal force. The analytical results showed a good agreement to those obtained by numerical analysis and from measurements.
