Chestnut growing and chestnut products: language and tradition in Tuscany (CALITRAT). Promotion of the cultural identity of region's chestnut growing areas

CALITRAT is an ethnolinguistic research project focused on the chestnut growing areas of Tuscany, with the goal of contributing to the conservation, promotion and scientific study of a part of cultural heritage that simultaneously represents language, technique and memory. The project is open to bodies and organisations that are interested in chestnut growing from some point of view. It aims to be a point of reference, collection and coordination, and to provide a regional view of this particular sector of knowledge in which local specificities are important and are seen as identity traits and as representations of the richness of diversity. It is also open to comparison with other Mediterranean regions with a tradition of chestnut growing.
