Analysis of IEEE 802.15.3 CAP Based on DC-OFDM-UWB

In this paper, we present a way to estimate the performance of successful requests in contention access period (CAP) of IEEE 802.15.3 accounting for dual carrier-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-ultra wide band (DC-OFDM-UWB). It is important for a piconet coordinator (PNC) to schedule traffic of a piconet and will determine the duration of contention free period (CFP). Simulation results show that the analysis accurately predicts the performance of CAP in UWB PHY.
