An Integrated E-Plane mm-Wave 29 GHz Transceiver

E-plane circuit techniques have been shown to be suitable for realising millimetric components for frequencies from 27 to 140 GHz. This paper describes the use of this technology for a portable radio link equipment for use in the 27.5 to 29.5 GHz band. This equipment is being developed for full colour visual teleconferencing from customers' premises and for private data and telephony circuits. The microwave transceiver is believed to be the most advanced example of E-plane integration so far reported.
