Optimal Hydrothermal Coordination for Multiple Reservoir River Systems

A new, efficient system operations planning model simulates the coordinated use of Pacific Power and Light Company's hydro electric and thermal resources. Optimization of this nonlinear problem is accbmplished through successive application of a linear network flow optimizer and a high speed thermal unit commitment algorithm.
