Selection of Protective Coatings for Padmounted Equipment Maintenance

A series of tests was performed on a number of protective coatings in order to select suitable maintenance coatings for padmounted electrical distribution equipment. Selection criteria, results of tests, and final selection are discussed. The test requirements of the proposed EEI guideline for protective coatings are also discussed in light of the results of the test program.
