Assessing a Country's Wind Resource Potential

The author has developed a software based wind resource assessment (WRA) application for wind data analysis using hourly wind speed data sets in Microsoft Excel format. Features of the software are: an exact quantification and characterization of the energy supply of the wind for three relevant time scales. These can be used to predict wind speed and energy if the models' limitations are understood.
