A redesign of NEC2 using the object-oriented paradigm

In the days in which NEC2 was written, the software design philosophy in vogue was that of structural decomposition or procedural programming. Since the early 1980's computer programs of increasing complexity have been developed. These programs have highlighted deficiencies in the structural design technique. Primarily, these were that not enough support was given to data abstraction and information hiding. Programming methodologies such as object-based and object oriented methods were developed to overcome these shortcomings. This paper presents an object-oriented design of NEC2.<>
