The transatlantic propagation of Marconi's 12th December 1901 wireless signal by means of ionospheric reflections in the short wave region (32 and 24 meters) are critically examined to determine whether Marconi's later discovery of the revolutionary 'daylight wave' of July-October 1924 might have been responsible for that epoch making event of 1901.<>
