The occupational research data bank in MPT analysis

The authors address the potential MPT (manpower, personnel and training) applications of the ORDB (occupational research data bank). The ORDB is an up-to-date occupational research database containing a wide variety of both historical and current information on enlisted and officer career fields. A brief description is provided of the kinds of information available within each of the ORDB subsystems. Steps are outlined and examples given which MPT analysis might currently use to establish a predecessor-system baseline data file from which estimates of MPT requirements for new and emerging weapon systems can be made. Possible longer-term modifications to the ORDB system to help meet the need of early MPT analysis are considered.<>
