Power managing Pentium processor-based notebooks

A complete strategy must be developed to control all aspects of system power management including CPU and the rest of the system to minimize active and suspend mode (static) power consumption. Properly executing a complete power management strategy will ensure the system will maximize battery life and minimize internal heat dissipation. The focus of this paper is directed toward the challenges of maximizing overall battery life by controlling the power consumption of the Pentium processor. This paper also discusses a method to extend battery life while the system is in suspend or hibernation state.<>
