Stochastic Resonance of a Linear System Induced by Random Parameter

The phenomenon of stochastic resonance in an over-damped linear system with random system parameter is investigated. An explicit expression of the mean output-amplitude-gain (OAG) is obtained by using linear-system theory. It is shown that the OAG of the noisy system can be larger than that of the noise free system, and the OAG is a non-monotonic function of the frequency of the drive signal as well as the strength and the correlation time of the colored noise.
