Recursive and Numerical Methods for the Calculation of Modes in Optical Bragg Fibers with Very Large Effective Area

Two approaches to the calculation of modes in Bragg fibers are presented. The first one utilizes a close relation between Bragg fibers and plane multilayer mirrors and formulates mode propagation in terms of cylindrical wave reflection.
