Computer-aided design for control of shunt active filter

This paper deals with the design of a control system for a shunt active filter related to the worst case of a power network connected to a harmonic generator i.e. a three-phase rectifier with a highly inductive load. The main principle for the control strategy is based upon the instantaneous reactive power theory as often described in the literature. In this way, the design of direct digital control is proposed including the choice of the main parameters from analog filters related to currents and voltages to the current control strategy of the voltage source inverter (VSI) used as an active filter. Different simulations results showing the computer-aided design efficiency are presented and the influence of important parameters is analyzed.<>
