A capable "O" level IETM At last

SAIC and the US Army have created a new approach to diagnostic testing that is economical to develop and still has the capability necessary to tackle real world troubleshooting problems. This was done by selecting a mix of known techniques and new technology for both the hardware and software. The resulting interactive electronic technical manual (IETM) can be put in the hands of a user with a minimum of cost and training and still produces the maximum maintenance benefit. The IETM supplies troubleshooting instructions and the remove and replace directions by interacting not only with the user but directly with the device under itself. The IETM can be authored by technical writers not skilled in programming by inserting a series of simple tags directly into the text. These tags control the user screen view and the operation of the internal test equipment.<>
