Non-standard platforms-ready for the digital era

There is much talk about the capabilities of standard platforms and their future role in television. By analysing an everyday production scenario their performance is compared to the more traditional and non-standard platform dedicated hardware approaches. The results show that all solutions have their place and that only there can they be considered truly ready for the digital era.<>
