A fuzzy expert system tool used for the analysis of musical timbres

An interesting problem in music recognition is to be able to listen to any piece of music and determine which musical timbres are heard. A human expert such as a composer can achieve this recognition without any mistakes. Given the properties of timbre, the Fuzzy Expert System Tool (FEST) can determine all the instruments being played in a given piece of music due to FEST's ability to produce multiple conclusions.<>
