Cylindrical model for magnetic field stimulation of neurons

Pulses of a strong magnetic field are used to stimulate motor nerves in order to diagnose various neurological disorders. Analyses of induced electric fields in tissue are important in localizing and focusing the stimulation and in optimization of coils used to produce the magnetic field. A method of analysis and results of coil optimization are presented for a homogeneous cylindrical volume conductor representing an arm.<>
