Invariant roots of polynomials with uncertain coefficients

The roots of a polynomial whose coefficient are functions of a set of parameters will in general depend on these parameters. In this paper the following question is answered: Under what conditions are there invariant roots (IR), i.e., roots which do not vary when the parameters change?.<>
