The self second harmonic generation crystal NYAB pumped by the laser output of Ti/sup 3+/:AL/sub 2/O/sub 3/

Studies of the self-second-harmonic-generation (self-SHG) crystal Nd/sub x/Y/sub 1-x/Al/sub 3/(BO/sub 3/)/sub 4/, or NYAB pumped by the infrared output of a Ti/sup 3+/:Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ laser are reported. The wavelengths of the pumping laser were from 0.7306 mu m to 0.8268 mu m. The size of the NYAB crystal 3*3*4 mm/sup 3/. Type 1 phase matching self-SHG was adopted, and 0.532- mu m output was obtained with a NYAB crystal that was uncoated and not inserted in a resonator. The green-light spot was 1 mm in diameter and the diffuse angle was 1.5 mrad. The threshold of the self-SHG of the NYAB crystal was measured.<>
