Mean field analysis of the magnetization of amorphous Gd/Fe multilayers

In Gd/Fe multilayers, the crystallographic structure and the magnetic properties are examined for various layer thicknesses, d/sub Fe/ and d/sub Gd/. The structure changes from crystalline to amorphous below 20 AA of d/sub Fe/ or d/sub Gd/. In the amorphous region, the thickness dependence of the Curie temperature and the magnetization is explained consistently by the mean field theory.<>
