Dynamics of wall and Bloch line motion using 3D simulations

Three-dimensional numerical experiments have been performed on a stripe domain in a magnetic bubble garnet material to study the dynamics of vertical Bloch lines (VBLs). The authors have modeled a stripe with two domain walls at equilibrium, one wall containing a winding VBL pair and the other structureless. When a bias field pulse with 10 ns risetime is applied, the walls move together at 77 m/s and 33 m/s, with the VBLs moving at 178 m/s. Overshoot in the wall motion was observed and attributed to the relaxation of the horizontal Bloch lines (HBLs) formed in the structureless wall. Contours of the in-plane angle of the magnetization in the wall with the VBL pair distort during wall motion; however, it was possible to see some influence of HBL formation on VBL motion.<>
