Assuring integrity in a changing BT network

The upgrade of a signaling network to provide a non-circuit-related capability and to align more fully with worldwide: ISDN signaling standards, is planned. How the signaling network has evolved since its original introduction in the early 1980s to the extensive multivendor network of today is discussed. How the experience gained during the introduction and management of the existing signaling network will be applied to the challenges posed by the proposed upgrade is described.<>
