Design of high frequency resonant factor correction circuits via input current programmed control schemes

Three input current programmed control schemes are proposed to design a resonant power factor correction circuit (RPFCC) utilizing current-driven resonant converter topologies. These three control schemes are: constant-on-time, constant-off-time, and hysteretic input current programmed control. It is shown that applications of these control schemes depend on the switching mechanism, (zero current switching, zero voltage switching, and zero voltage resonant transition switching) used in these converters. Design examples as well as experimental results for the first two schemes are presented.<>
