Reduction of grating lobes in sequentially rotated microstrip patch arrays

Sequentially rotated microstrip patch arrays are known to have severe grating lobe problems that limit the array bandwidth and the usefulness of linearly polarised elements. It is shown that grating lobe reduction can be achieved by applying rotation across larger than conventional, arrays. Examples are given that give up to 10 dB lobe reduction.<
