Tinytalk: a powerful, low-cost screen reader

Tinytalk is a memory-resident (TSR) program for IBM-compatible computers which lets a blind or otherwise print-handicapped user run standard application programs by using synthesized speech in place of the screen display. Tinytalk acts as an interface between the computer's operating system and any one of several commercially available speech synthesizers. It can also directly generate speech using the computer's built-in speaker; this is useful for those whose need for occasional access to a particular computer does not warrant buying a dedicated speech synthesizer.<>
