Weatherproof pole mounted terminal

Drop wires radiate from pole top to subscribers' premises and are connected by the pole mounted block terminal to the distribution cable and hence to the exchange. The distribution cable remains connected for the life of the terminal, a nominal twenty years, but the drop wire connection may be broken and remade as required. Access to the drop wire connection is necessary for changing subscribers' needs, testing and drop wire replacement.<>
