RACE applications pilots-the user dimension

There are 17 application pilot projects in the RACE (Research and Development in Advanced Communications in Europe) program in prototyping applications which, when fully developed, will require integrated broadband communication (IBC) capabilities. Results to date are briefly reviewed. The pilots projects collectively cover a wide range of market sectors: finance; media and publishing; entertainment and culture; retail and distribution; healthcare; manufacturing; and transport.<>
